MITH Culture

In MITH’s basement offices, there is always fresh coffee, gaming systems, and a stray giraffe or two. From classic 80s tunes leaking from underneath office doors to 3 pm snack time, MITH is a creative environment that encourages innovation and testing the boundaries of what constitutes humanities inquiry. We encourage our staff to treat MITH as their second home (not just because some of them walk around in their slippers) and for visitors to kick back and relax in front of our vintage computer collection or in the MITH lounge.

We are always happy to welcome guests (and former staff) to MITH and let them experience for themselves what happens when two literature professors, a librarian, a historian, and a computational linguist get together with some really talented staffers….wait, isn’t that the start of a joke at this year’s Digital Humanities conference?

We invite you to visit MITH in person to experience all the Maryland digital humanities has to offer. You are welcome at any time (except nap time).
