MITH Internships enable students to join a research team of senior scholars, graduate students, and undergraduates from across the university working on new media or the digital humanities. Student interns may take up to 3 credit hours in digital humanities theory and practice (ENGL388T) and can specify on which of the many current MITH projects they would like to spend at least 8 hours per week. Projects include those by current MITH Fellows, MITH's affiliates, or research done by MITH staff, and vary from the building of electronic archives, editions, and multi-media research Web sites, to the development of software and digital tools, to experimental work in data-mining and visualization.
Interns will be asked to write short progress reports as well as compose a final paper or project as a capstone to their experience. Attendance at MITH's weekly Digital Dialogues seminar series (always Tuesdays, 12:30-1:45) is also MANDATORY for all interns. To apply, please contact MITH and specify the nature of your interests and what technical skills you can offer.
